Qualifications: RSD - Commercial Roped Setter - Training
This 2-day course will focus on route setting best practice, equipment, rigging, ascent and descent, bag hauling, WAH, LOLER and PUWER regulations. A variety of companion rescue scenarios will be trained and practised over the two days, as will practical route-setting. The course is intended for climbers who have a have a good level of rope-work skills, can lead / belay and climb frequently indoors at 6b. The course is also appropriate for designated route setter rescuers and floor walkers with a route-setter rescue remit. This course is approved for 1 MTA or 2 AMI CPD points.
In order to attend this course you need to have first completed RSD Route Setting Basics, you can do this online here, and RSD Setting in Practice or obtained exemption for experienced setters

Following completion of the two-day training course, candidates may apply for the one-day assessment course.
It will be taught by Ben Humphris, professional Route Setter, RSD Trainer, IRATA Level 3 qualified technician and Mountaineering Instructor.
All equipment provided. This course is approved for 1 MTA or 2 AMI CPD points.
