This two-day course will focus on route setting best practice, equipment, rigging, ascent and descent, bag hauling, WAH, LOLER and PUWER regulations. A variety of companion rescue scenarios will be trained and practised over the two days, as will practical route-setting.
The course is intended for climbers who have a have a good level of rope-work skills, can lead/belay and climb frequently indoors at 6b. The course is also appropriate for designated route setter rescuers and floor walkers with a route-setter rescue remit. This course is approved for 1 MTA or 2 AMI CPD points.
Following completion of the two-day training course, candidates may apply for the one-day assessment course.
It will be taught by Ben Humphris, professional Route Setter, RSD Trainer, IRATA Level 3 qualified technician and Mountaineering Instructor.
