RSD – Commercial Roped Setter – Training and Assessment

This training and assessment is suitable for experienced setters looking to gain the RSD Roped setter training. This course will focus on route setting best practice, equipment, rigging, ascent and descent, bag hauling, WAH, LOLER and PUWER regulations. A variety of companion rescue scenarios will be trained and practised over the course, as will practical route-setting. The course is intended for climbers who have a have rope-work skills, can lead / belay and climb frequently indoors at 6b.
This course includes the use of all necessary equipment for setting and working at height.
Upon successfully completing the assessment the candidate will be issued with the RSD Commercial Roped Setter certificate which is valid for three years.

Eligibility criteria:
- Six months regular boulder setting experience
- Ability to safely and effectively cordon off an area
- Awareness of Working at Height (WAH) regulations and best practices
- Awareness of manual handling techniques
- Ability to use impact driver and apply holds to the wall
