What are the benefits of joining the ABC?
Joining the ABC is the best way to ensure that your wall meets the climbing wall industries best practise guidelines. ABC members get access to guidance, reports and in depth analysis of the issues affecting our industry. There are also seminars, newsletters and a members forum to help you stay in touch with what’s going on in the world of indoor climbing.
The Foundry was one of the four walls that got together back in 1994 for the first ABC meeting. The main reason for this was and after 20 years still is to promote and assist with the safe operation and management of ABC centres/walls. Other benefits are using our position as an organised trading group when looking for services for our members such as better priced/robust insurance cover. Also being able to meet up with other members at meetings/seminars and have the opportunity to discuss and access knowledge and information from fellow members, the BMC, CWMA and other invited trades/companies that can offer us good advice and services.Neil Bentley – The Foundry
Association of British Climbing Walls (ABC)

Here you’ll find details on all things climbing related, from how to find a wall near you through to a simple concise Code of Conduct for wall operators. The ABC was formed in 1994 to develop standards and operating procedures for the growing UK climbing wall industry. Today the association is recognised as the representative body for climbing walls by Insurance Companies, the Health & Safety Executive and the BMC.
Membership is open to all climbing walls that are able to commit to some simple safe operational procedures.

For members of the ABC there’s a members only area with downloads, reports and a forum to connect you with other members.
