2 new Directors needed

The ABC’s constitution provides for 9 Member Directors and for each Director to give a maximum of 6 years service.

We now have 2 positions that we want to fill at this year’s AGM.

Being a Director of the ABC allows you to influence the direction of the climbing industry in these fast moving times.  We have a skills matrix and are particularly interested in the following areas, but will not rule out anyone who does not possess them.

  • technical skills/qualifications relating to climbing and instruction
  • technical skills/experience relating to the construction of walls and holds
  • HR and Employment law knowledge
  • The legal and insurance side of running climbing walls

We currently have just one Director from a relatively small, non-commercial wall so would like to improve that side of our representation if possible.

The board meets 4 times each year and each meeting takes a full day.  In addition, you will be expected to contribute to discussions and work on an ad hoc basis throughout the year.  Your expenses are covered but this is a voluntary role.
