Here is a message from the ABCTT, regarding recruitment of new trustees to their board:
As you will know, the Association of British Climbing Walls Training Trust (ABCTT), is a small educational charity which administers the NICAS and NIBAS schemes. It is led by a board of voluntary trustees. The Board of Trustees are responsible for the strategic direction of the charity, as well as providing a steer to the charity’s operational activities. Trustees meet on average four times a year.
Last year, the ABCTT recruited five new trustees, who have brought a fantastic range of skills to complement the skillset of the existing team. We now have nine trustees in total. As a result the charity is in a really strong position with lots of exciting opportunities ahead. We really value the input from current trustees who represent ABC walls, however one of these trustees steps down in September at our AGM, creating a vacancy. We are looking to recruit a new trustee to fill this gap from another ABC member wall. We are committed to ensuring that the ABCTT keeps in touch with the practical delivery needs of walls, and know that having trustees from ABC member walls around the table means we access to people who have their fingers on the pulse of what works (and what doesn’t) at their walls.
In summary, we’re looking for candidates who are agreed representatives of an ABC member wall, and who bring something extra to help us drive forward the delivery of our schemes. We are looking to recruit a trustee who can demonstrate their own value added skills and who can use innovative thinking to keep our products and services relevant. We’re particularly keen to hear from representatives from ABC walls across the Home Nations; and from ABC bouldering centres.
