Hi everyone, many of you will know by now that Kelvyn finished working for the ABC on 31st January. We’re really grateful for all his hard work and input over the past few years and he leaves us in a far stronger position than we were.
He’s going to continue being around for a while yet though, as we roll out the Sport England Participation database, so hopefully many of you will have a chance to bump into him over the coming months.
At the AGM we discussed appointing a CEO for the ABC. Following the approval to do so, we started the recruitment process and after what we think has been a thorough approach, we’ve finally made an appointment.
Graham Atkins will take on the role of CEO from 27th Feb. Graham is a climber based in Exeter. He works part time for Korn Ferry Hay Group (a big firm of Management Consultants) and has a really strong background in working with ministers and other senior government people. Everyone involved in the recruitment process feels that Graham will bring a renewed focus for the ABC, as we go forward hopefully with Sport England funding over the next few years. I know that he can’t wait to get started.
Once he’s got his feet under the desk, I’m sure that he’ll want to write something for the site to introduce himself in more detail but for now it’s fair to say that the Management Committee are really excited about moving the ABC forward much further and much faster.
