Dear ABC Member
At the AGM this year we need to elect one new member of the Management Committee. We’re looking for nominations.
Following the AGM last year, we appointed our new CEO and are soon to appoint a Head of Membership Services. We also have a new strategy that we’ll consult with you on and are working on our governance to bring it in line with our strategy and up-to-date with best practice. It’s a really exciting time and we’re confident that we can do even more for the industry as we approach the Olympics and continue to see substantial growth in indoor climbing.
The ABC Management Committee is currently made up of representatives from some of the bigger walls in the UK. So, we’re now looking for someone from a smaller wall (which must be an Approved ABC Member wall), who can make a positive contribution to the Management Committee and can bring an alternative perspective. This might be a wall from a Leisure Centre, a small commercial wall, or even a school wall. What we’re looking for is someone who has a real interest in our industry and a willingness to get involved. You will be required to attend 4 meetings per year and to do some work in between. The ABC will cover your expenses but it is a voluntary role.
If you fit the bill, please can you submit a CV and no more than a 1 page summary of your relevant experience. We will put this information to the members 2 weeks before the AGM, so please can you get your information to us by close of play on 13 Sept. Any nominations we receive after that won’t be considered. There will then be a vote at the AGM, ideally you’ll be there.
