The ABCTT has launched a new NICAS website

The ABCTT today announces the launch of its new NICAS website – www.nicas.co.uk.


Since 2008, NICAS has helped introduce over 100,000 young people to indoor climbing through its roped climbing and bouldering award schemes. The launch of the new website is another step forward in the schemes aim to help develop climbers through quality coaching.

Key features of the newly redesigned website include a cleaner and more attractive design alongside a more engaging user experience that allows individuals, schools & groups to find information easier on where to find their local NICAS providing climbing wall.

Through NICAS, young people learn to develop climbing skills and improve their levels of ability through a structured award scheme. The new website provides a rich source of content for anyone interested in the climbing award schemes and offers easy access to essential information and features that on how to get started.

Hazel Findlay, professional climbing and NICAS ambassador, says: “Climbing has been such a big part of my life and I am proud to be an ambassador for a charity that makes climbing accessible to people of all ages. The great new website makes it even easier for people to find NICAS centres all around the UK and introduce them to a sport that can change your life.”

Other features include a brand new Provider area that offers current NICAS centres an area to login and download resources to help them run high quality sessions. This area will be updated regularly, allowing NICAS centres of all sizes the ability to benefit from latest information on coaching, free session plans and video resources to use on their sessions.

Martin Chester, Executive Officer of the ABC Training Trust (the Charity behind the schemes) says: “From the launch to the present day the scheme has grown so fast that keeping up was a challenge. Now, at last, we have an exciting new site that reflects the enthusiasm, engagement and resources required to enable so many climbers, providers and supporters to get the most out of their NICAS experience.”

NICAS stands for the National Indoor Climbing Award Schemes and consists of a roped award scheme and a bouldering only scheme.
